This month I decided I'd dabble in creating video content again. If you've been following me for awhile, I used to regularly post on YouTube. It was a platform I really enjoyed, and as a bonus it doubled as my homework for a content creation course I took in college. It's been a really long time since I've filmed anything. I posted a few videos on the NestingInNY TikTok, and on Instagram. Picking up a camera is not as intuitive as it used to be, and filming makeup tutorials in my room feels far different than vlogging, but I've had fun creating content around travels, and my dog so far. I am hoping to share more as we get further into getting baby's nursery ready, and maybe working on the garden some more this summer. Purchasing tripods and gear for my phone has been weird as well, as I used to film on a real camera! I love the portability though. 😅
In other news: I am just shy of 27 weeks pregnant, and I had my glucose test today. I have heard a vast spectrum of opinions about what that was like for other expectant moms, so I thought I'd throw my thoughts out there too.
It wasn't bad! Breakfast was a bit boring, my current go-to is a decaf coffee with a flavored oat milk creamer, and some chocolate chip protein waffles with maple syrup but since I had the test today I opted to have as little sugar as possible; Whole grain toast, two scrambled eggs, a little hot sauce on top and a big glass of water. When I got to the doctor's office I was asked to drink the glucose beverage which was equivalent to a small water bottle (~10oz), and tasted like a non-carbonated orange soda. I had to drink the beverage within 5 minutes, and then time an hour from completion to have my blood drawn. Overall it was a really easy process, and I sat in the waiting room working on emails and watching a few TikToks. I am still awaiting results, so I am hopeful everything reads normal.
My baby shower is also coming up next week. I'm excited to get together with friends and family, and celebrate baby's upcoming arrival. We went with a farmers market theme, so I decided I wanted blueberries on my nails. 🫐 In the first trimester I craved blueberries like crazy. I could easily eat a pint in one sitting, and my dog, Tracer, also loves blueberries so it's kind of a pattern in our house. 🤣 These were my inspo nails, and I feel like my nail tech was pretty spot on.
